  1. didn't share enough info share more info next time

  2. I explained how to go about it for any niche, and reinforced the importance of testing. It was a question that didn't have an answer that works for everybody, and that is what I explained.

You clearly don't know me if you think I don't share info – I've done a weekly affiliate marketing podcast since 2007 (Affiliate Thing), just published the 21st issue of my free affiliate marketing magazine (FeedFront), post all of the videos from Affiliate Summit for free to YouTube, etc.

  3. What is the point of posting a video about a topic and then refusing to give the information. Even as an affiliate marketer, you could have offered a one day course for people to learn. You lose credibility by being "That Guy".

Stop wasting people's time with a video that sounds like a disgruntled guy from the copy room who knows how to fix the copier but won't tell the new hires so you seem important– Get it together dude!

  4. OMG! Too funny. I was disappointed by the answer too but…..I guess…..I was looking for an administrative assistant.

The title sucked me in but……you're right and……..too funny.

I love the apology from the "asshole" guy đŸ™‚

You have a great day đŸ™‚

  5. credit cards insurance home loans would be my best gess for the best paying

  6. Alright I get it, sorry for calling you an asshole.

  7. The title reflects the question being asked, which is in the description.

Also, this answer is over 5 years old.

The reality is that there is no "best paying" affiliate program – it depends on the quality of traffic you're sending to a given company and the resulting conversion rate, as well as a number of other factors, like how we'll you've pre-sold the product or service.

Sorry, there are no short cuts. Always be testing.

  8. No, I wasn't assuming anything. I was giving a straight answer to the question I received.

  9. You are assuming all people are fools!

  10. I don't bother looking at video responses, since 99% are spam. But even if you are in the 1%, your use of "prolly" merits an automatic ignore.

  11. You forgot to add "fuck you".

  12. Heyu seem like an asshole….. unsubcribed…lol….. salted!

  13. @mrwonderfulhere2 Holy crap. Do you want some cheese with your whine?

  14. Looks like everyone agrees with me on this. The only reason 14, 000 people have watched is because they thought it would be useful. No wonder it is marked spam 500 times. Whatever.

  15. @mrwonderfulhere2 I am glad to see you can think for yourself, rather than letting the comments of others dictate your opinion. The title is not misleading – I answered a question on the best paying affiliate program and gave advice on how to find it.

Seriously, do you think people will be more likely to subscribe to my videos if they didn't like one?

By the way, that video is 4 years old – I'd suggest looking for more recent sources for information.

  16. @jlparker4 There is no issue of trusting people here – as I suggested in the video, if you go to the affiliate networks, you can find the payouts. I think it's rude to tell me I've given a crappy answer when I'm volunteering my time to help here.

  17. @jstguy It takes a while to build up an audience and then monetize a site, and it's not easy. I would suggest creating a blog on a subject that interests you, and then continually add unique content to give people a reason to visit. Stay away from putting ads on there at first – just focus on building a quality site. After a few months, start testing various, relevant ads.

  18. Hey friend….

You have a lot of negative feedback. You absolutely deserve a bad review.

Your title is misleading. That makes you ah er um …okay I'll just say it

A LIAR just change the title to

"I'm not going to devulge the best affiliate programs… but I will teach you how to…

    Or something of that nature.

I don't appreciate being lured by a false title….and a smug answer just

so you can increase your subscriber base. Frankly it's Rude

    You should remove the vid

  19. That was pretty rude. I don't think anyone was asking to do the legwork. The problem is you can do a google search on affiliate programs and get over a million hits. I have personally been looking at affiliate networks as well as just companies that have affiliate programs. It's really tough to get started and no who to trust. I think it was a relevant question. Maybe just a lead is what that person was looking for. For being in sales, that was a pretty crappy answer. I don't believe it.

  21. you ae an idiot u son of a bitch wasted my fuking time u mother fuker

  22. @PeterAndPals I make videos of all of the questions I receive on affiliate marketing. If you need help, go to askshawncollins (dot) com to ask yours.

  23. Why do you even bother to make a video about this?

  24. nice simple anwser's good work who really cares if your making money and its working for you right soda

  25. Make Money With Amazon. It is the best and easy way

  26. @missmeliss1124 I haven't had any problems with Overstock – where have you heard affiliate transactions didn't track or affiliates were not paid?

  27. @drwhopk I can't spoon feed answers to all the questions.

  28. @arnorhs That's exactly what I said in the video – I explained that they should go to the networks to look at the payouts.

  29. but if you're getting that question a lot, you should simply tell her HOW TO FIND THAT OUT. It's obvious your asker doesn't know where to look or how to do the legwork. don't post a question and just say that you're not going to answer. What a useless video.. Sorry, I don't usually rant.

  30. but if you're getting that question a lot, you should simply tell her HOW TO FIND THAT OUT. It's obvious your asker doesn't know where to look or how to do the legwork.

  31. Always impressive!

  32. why was this video even posted? waste of time.

  33. I Think you SUCK

  34. I do two weekly podcasts: Affiliate Thing and GeekCast – both available at geekcast(dot)fm

  35. "This guy" is successful because he got off his ass and did some work and took some risk. You have been reading too many hyped up long sales copy web pages and you are in dream land. If you want to make money, you'll have to risk losing some money. There are no quick, easy answers.

  36. My two Cents. Well I have purchased a few books on PPC and learned a lot. Reading what successful people like shawn are doing and NOT doing. It's all very helpful, but the best leaning tool I have come across so far is just doing it. Joining programs, setting up campaigns and even learning some HTML. And yes that means losing some money. Do you think you can drive just because you can read the DMV manual?

  37. No, you will have to rely on yourself to make money.

I simply answer questions on affiliate marketing strategy.

You are not going to find the secret of life in a 2 minute video.

  38. What do you figure I'm trying to sell?

I answer every question that is submitted, and unfortunately not every one can realistically be answered in a couple of minutes.

But I'll keep doing it to help people.

  39. I have made somewhere around 100 videos to help people.

I provide a free service where I answer affiliate marketing questions based on my 10+ years experience.

But I am not going to do busy work, which has nothing to do with my knowledge, for people who can't be bothered to do it themselves.

    Have a nice day.

  40. Try forum dot abestweb dot com

  41. what if you have ZERO experience in affiliate marketing. Is there a place/site you can go to learn and get your feet wet?

  42. Do you really? What would you say a helpful response would be here, since the answer is going to be different any given month for any vertical?
